My mid-range and distance vision was restored to 20/20 (gratefully). However, my close-up vision remained impaired for reading or working up close on any object, therefore requiring assistance to bring the print, etc, up close to vivid focus. With these bifocal glasses I got the best of both worlds. I have been used to wearing glasses for many years, so that did not present a problem. The bifocal upper lens has absolutely no prescription and allows me to look up from my reading or close work and immediately see with extreme clarity anything in the distance. My prescribed bifocal (diopter of 2.25) is just perfect for reading and all of my close up work. The hinges have springs and stay comfortably in place without sliding. The appearance is great.
